- CASEFILE 25/01/96
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Soure: Peterborough Evening Telegraph
- Date: January 25, 1996
-
- Witness: Brian Dunnett
- Address: Heaton Close, Netherton
- Time of Sighting: 10pm August 23 1995
-
- "I'VE alwasy had an interest in the night sky,so it wasn't unusual for me to
- have a quick look if it was clear," explained Mr Dunnet.
-
- "Hoping to see the Mir Space Station, I stepped out onto my patio, closing the
- curtain behind me. I had a wonderful view of the western sky.
-
- "As I looked above and slightly due south, I saw what I thought were three
- shooting starts arriving at great speed.
-
- "Looking closer, I could see they were bright lights on the front of some
- airship-shaped craft.
-
- "They seemed to slow down and held a loose V-shaped formation.
-
- "I could see the starts and sky between them as they travelled in a straight
- line towards the west. They were silver and completely silent.
-
- "I looked away and back again to check this was real. Then I realised I was
- seeing UFOs.
-
- "As they moved across the sky, at an altitude of about half a mile, I saw they
- were identical and gave off a shimmering light over their entire surface.
-
- "The moon wouldn't have been able to provide such complete illumination.
-
- "The light coming from the front of the craft was very bright and made it
- difficult yo see any detail there.
-
- "The craft appeared in the west, over a period of 10 seconds, the suddenly
- accelerated at amazing speed through a left and right turn and disappeared
- without trace.
-
- "During this manoeuvre the third craft on the right/outside position dropped
- out of formation and positioned itself below and between the other craft.
-
- "I reported the sighting to Thorpe Wood Police Station.
-
- "It was as good as winning the National Lottery. After all, it was a
- once-in-a-lifetime event.
-
- "I'm sure what I saw was alien technology. After all the Hubble Telescope has
- just shown us galaxies similar to our own where life could be sustained."
-
- Brian contacted the AIA after seeing it in The Evening Telegraph.
-
- "We believe this to be a classic sighting," said co-ordinator Jeffery
- Ellington.
-
- "The estimated speed of the craft was 600mph, comparable with a jet fighter,
- but the shape dispels that theory.
-
- "The aerial manoeuvres were very precisely executed, not the sort of thing that
- could have been done by an airship."
-
- The sighting is given even greater significance by a report of a similar
- incident near Aberfeldy, Perthshire, Scotland, last February.
-
- The female witness described three long white objects which she thought were
- part of some building work on a nearby hill.
-
- But they suddenly rose one by one into the air, then, hovering at the same
- altitude, flipped over and moved away at high speed.
-
- The witness described a very distinct shimmering effect around one of the
- craft.
-
- In the flicker of an eye, they winked out.
-
- OTHER CASES FROM THE AIA FILES...
-
- o Reports of sonic booms and strange lights over Ramsey, occuring between 6pm
- and 7pm on Wednesdays, on a fairly regular basis during the late summer. The
- AIA decided not to pursue the case any further in case it was a prototype craft
- being tested and in case publicity at the time could have jepardised security.
-
- o Two men in a car who passed hitchhiker dressed all in black walking along the
- road from Farcet Fen to Peterborough in October. They stopped to wait for him
- to catch up and to ask if he wanted a lift. But nobody turned up and they could
- see nobody in the road.
-
- o A report by Ramsey Wood machinish James Thompson who spotted three lights
- moving in formation as he was being driven home from Peterborough on December 9
- at 12.30 am. The report is consistent with numerous sightings over the years of
- triangular-shaped UFOs in Belgium.
-
- o AIA contact with a clairvoyant from the Lincoln area, who claims to have been
- abducted by a human-alien hybrid race who showed him the Earth's future. He
- says in 10 to 20 year's time, law and order will break down because of a brain
- disease which makes people act violently for no reason.
